Yaz Birth Control Lawsuit

As time goes on, every state will probably have at least one Yaz birth control lawsuit. This is due to the fact that the chemical, drospirenone, is used in Yaz and it has been associated with a number of conditions that have developed in women. • Stroke
• Bladder problems
• Sudden death

And these are not all of the issues that are being cited in the many lawsuits that have been filed against the Bayer Corporation. Women have also experienced menstrual clotting that has led to serious conditions and a lot of pain and suffering.

Studies have shown that the reason why Yaz has a higher potential for causing these side effects than traditional birth control pills is because of the use of drospirenone. This is a chemical that can raise the potassium levels in the blood. Although potassium is good for the body, it can be dangerous in large doses. This elevation can lead to heart and other circulatory issues because such a high level causes the body to lose its salt and water balance. Too much of one and too little of the other can be detrimental to a person’s health.

So if you have taken Yaz or know someone who has and you have had one of the above conditions, you may want to speak to a lawyer. Because no recall has been issued, Yaz continues to be distributed every day.
