In the lawsuits filed against Yamaha, Rhino rollovers are top heavy and narrow where the tires have been found to be too small. Rollovers have become common with the Yamaha Rhino. Design problems have made them very unstable. Rollovers have been reported on a variety of driving surfaces including flat and rough terrain at low and high speeds. Many Yamaha Rhino ATV’s were designed and sold without doors. Passengers and drivers (even when wearing seat belts) still have ended up outside the vehicle in a rollover and have faced serious injuries.
Last year, a Yamaha Rhino lawsuit was filed in Texas involving the death of a nine year old boy who was riding as a passenger in a Rhino ATV when it rolled over. The young boy was crushed under the weight of the ATV and resulted in a fatal head injury.
